Brazilian nightshade. Solanum seaforthianum Native to the West Indies A problem on the north coast of NSW. It invades dunes and rainforest. Form: Sprawling shrub or climber. Flower: Hanging bunches, violet. Mainly spring to autumn. Fruit/Seed: Globular red berry in bunches. Control: Pull out before it seeds. Chemical controls are available. Cut/scrape and paint can be effective. |
