Honeysuckle. Lonicera japonica

Native to China and Japan

A serious weed in moist gullies mainly on the central coast and some sections of the north and south coast.

Form: Climbing and scrambling shrub 7 - 10m high.

Flower: Yellow cream to white, in pairs. Spring and autumn.

Fruit/Seed: Shiny black fruit.

Control: Once established it is difficult to remove. Strongly roots at the nodes so spreads very easily.

Chemical controls are available. Spraying or cutting and painting with herbicide is effective.
