Cape weed. Arctotheca populifolia
Native to South Africa
Present along the coast south from Port Macquarie. Grows on foredunes. Removal of this species must be followed by replacement with indigenous species i.e. spinifex.
Form: Herb to 30cm high.
Flower: Yellow. Flowering most of the year.
Fruit/Seed: Seed protected by soft woolly hair.
Control: Hand removal is easy in soft sand.
