Painted spurge. Euphorbia cyathophora

Native to tropical America

Painted spurge is proving to be a very invasive species on the north coast. It flourishes in humid climates invading hind-dunes.

Form: Herb up to 70cm high.

Flower: Dull red. Irregularly clustered at ends of stems and branches. Flowers most of the year.

Fruit/Seed: Small segmented capsule.

Controls: Hand-pull before it seeds.

Chemical controls are available.
